Margaret Wenstrup
Magaret Newland Wenstrup was born in Kentucky in 1930. She studied at the John Heron Art Institute in Indianapolis, the Cincinnati Art Academy and, in the 1950s, privately with Ralston Crawford in New York.
Her work of the the 1960s, 70s, and early 80s shows considerable experimentation with hard-edged abstraction and, in particular, the various means of achieving optical effects on canvas and paper. She exhibited extensively, including; "Fiber Forum", Miami University Art Museum (1987); "Cincinnati Modern Art and Design at Mid-Century", Aronoff Center for the Arts (2002); and "Graphic Content: Contemporary and Modern/Art and Design", Contemporaty Arts Center, Cincinnati (2006).
Margaret Wenstrup died in 2008.
