Ernest Posey

Ernest Posey was born in New Orleans in 1937. He studied at Louisiana State University (degree in fine arts) and Tulane University (degree in architecture), and then moved to New York City. He had his first solo show at Henri Gallery, Washington DC, in 1966, and a few years later moved to California. He taught at the California College of Art, and the San Francisco Academy of Art University where he was chairman of the Department of Fine Art.
In addition to his painting and teaching, Posey was a graphic designer, book illustrator, printmaker, and filmmaker. He died in 2007.
